Mike DeVries’s Tattoo Wellness & Technique Seminar
Duration: 3 Hours
WHEN : FRIDAY AUG 16th. 12noon - 3pm
Are you taking all precautions to make sure you have a thriving tattoo career that lasts? This seminar is for any tattoo artist who works a lot of hours!
Tattoo wellness is overlooked in so many ways. Most tattoo artists don’t start thinking about their own body until it’s too late and that’s a big problem!
In this seminar, I will give you over 15 years’ worth of knowledge that I’ve been forced to learn and pay for!
Serious modifications had to be made in my life (inside and outside) of tattooing to be able to sustain the tattoo lifestyle. I’m only 40. I started tattooing when I was 23 and I went all in, tattooed all day, every day, and that’s why I’m feeling it today. When I started tattooing, if I would have had someone to pass on the knowledge that I’m about to pass on, that would have been phenomenal.
I would have dodged wearing wrist braces to bed for two years, maybe I wouldn’t have had to get an epidural in my back, or deal with chest compression issues only two years into my career (that I’m still dealing with to this day)!
But live and learn, and it’s okay, because I’m here to deliver the message as to why this happens and what’s going on underneath the hood. I’ll show you unique methods of exercises and a way of life! Thankfully, after battling pain, I overcame it! I had to change everything, including the way I drive and brush my teeth, for example.
It’s truly amazing what I’ve learned and most of it came from one specific man, whose knowledge and information I will pass on as well.
Tattooing in this new era is obviously different ... just look at the new works of art we are witnessing; It’s incredible! Tattooing as we know it is changing - let’s talk about it!
It’s not our fault that our back hurts, we are all the same. When we are young, we think we’re going to live forever, feeling like Superman and like nothing is going to happen to us. Or if it does hurt, we keep “taking one for the team” and “sacrificing” our body for a “clean line. ”This way of thinking is NOT GOOD, and we can change it!
MODERN TATTOOING IS SIMILAR TO THE JOB OF A SECRETARY WHO SITS ALL DAY LONG, AND ALSO COMBINES THE POSITIONS OF A GAME OF TWISTER THAT IS PLAYED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.THIS IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER AND IT’S NOT SUSTAINABLE! ~ Mike DeVries
